This was a fun challenge. Start with a useless breezeway that connected the downstairs garage to the upstairs living area and turn it into an Old West Bar.

The first thing I did was add the "second floor" landing in forced perspective to make the room seem longer and the ceilings lower.

I then built the bar back and bar and faux finished the walls and steel doors.

I then built the "player piano" which functioned as a fold down table.

The landing at the top of the stairs was turned into an apartment for the resident cat and named "miss Prrl's"

I'm pretty proud of the hammers and strings for the inside of the piano. And there's Belle E. Yuptada herself in all her glory in a stick frame above it.

The client has a home office video production company.  He occasionally needs a complete sound-stage with green screen hanging lights and stage. The solution was to take a completely empty loft area and make it a duel purpose area.  First, I  created hollow tudor beams that opened to reveal iron pipe for hanging lights and pulldown backdrop paper and a movie projection screen.  I also hid a projection TV system in an unused closet.

Next I created phoney bookcases complete with 3d tactile faux books.  The righthand one opens flat to create a stage and green screen backdrop.  The lefthand one opens like a cupboard to reveal storage space for equipment.

In it's closed configuration it is a fancy "gentleman's club" library.

This was a typical "the rest of the house is done but we ran out of money for the bathroom" job.  The owner loved a craftsman meets mediteranian style, so I stripped everything down the the bare walls, built new walls for a custom shower and cupboard space next to the vanity.  A lot of custom woodworking, wainescoat, venitian plaster and tile later, it was completely transformed into a cozy private spa.

The walk-in shower and claw-foot bubble tub add the necessary decadence that every spa needs.
